H1N1 Swine Influenza
I think this is out of control, as being spread from Mexico to America and that's the problem. I believe America is a powerful country, but handling these types of global outbreaks is hard. Doctors in Singapore are very worried as they suspected that the H1N1 will break out here in Singapore soon.
This might be dangerous for our small country, and our population my decrease, not good. So please take care of yourselves and don't go to crowded areas such as Orchard Rd and many others, you don't want to die right?

Re: H1N1 Swine Influenza
We don't have to be so worried about it here in Singapore. Already our alert levels have decreased and those temperature-recording machines have been installed in the airport for the tourists who enter into the country. We have no direct flights to Mexico. The only US cities which we have flight connections to is only Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, Boston and Houston. These cities have low cases of that swine flu. So in summary, we are pretty safe.

Re: H1N1 Swine Influenza
That's not convincing enough, as the Malaysian one is spreading in the matter of days from KL to Johor. This is very stressful, I overheard that the closer these infection gets, it may spread by wind. Johor is very near to us. And what the doctor suspects was in the papers. I'm very worried nowisanorhadi wrote:We don't have to be so worried about it here in Singapore. Re: H1N1 Swine Influenza
Where do you get your sources from? So far there has only been 2 confirmed cases in Malaysia. All of the infected have recovered. No evidence that it is spreading to Johor. Airborne diseases only spread between people who are close to each other, like people talking face to face. They can't fly up so high in the sky like airplanes and infect other countries.

The sources are from the New Papers. These viruses spread globally and the a Doctor suspects next week will be the first case in Singapore. I'm just taking precautions on everything I do.isanorhadi wrote:Where do you get your sources from? So far there has only been 2 confirmed cases in Malaysia. All of the infected have recovered. As you can see, if you clicked on iRandom, this topic is highlighted above and would never go down or overlapped by new topics. That's a sticky thread, it sticks ontop.Yana wrote:What's a sticky thread?

There's not much too worry. Sometimes ignorance is bliss. But don't take that statement too seriously though.
